“What I Did On My Holiday” rtd. : Day #02

04Dec11

On the 19th June I wrote, “Awake at 5.45am to find the wind howling and the rain hammering down – yesterday morning we left an officially designated drought zone. I never know whether to be impressed or concerned when the weather resorts to sarcasm.”

Six months later East Anglia still seems to be devoid of any significant rain so the drought status looks set to remain, whilst here in the Hope Valley the rain has fallen heavily all day only occasionally easing to then rain more heavily still. The good news though is that the forecast suggests the rain will soon abate, to allow the first snows of this winter to arrive. Hmmm.

So today has been a day of watching the weather and counting the hours – which I perhaps need to make clear is a good thing not a bad. And a point co-incidentally sort of made by @themanwhofell this very afternoon.
