“The Worst PCC Ever”

So after a morning away from Twitter I come back to find #manishsood trending following a frankly baffling interview in the local paper in which he states that “I believe Gordon Brown has been the worst Prime Minister we have had in this country”, that Mr Brown “owes an apology to the people and the Queen”, advocates the return of the death penalty and feels that “we have to get back to basics where people can leave their money outside for the milkman without it being stolen”. He doesn’t make it clear whether he believes in the death penalty for the theft of milk money but you can sense it’s just a matter of time.

I’d already marked Manish Sood’s card after his assertion that he was fighting an “unwinnable seat” – although fighting would suggest he’s been making an effort and quite plainly that’s not the case. So with that being the case, and as I’ve already said elsewhere, I’ve decided that “for the first time in my life I’m going to be voting for the local Liberal Democrat candidate, not because I particularly want to see Nick Clegg in Number 10 but specifically because I don’t want to see David Cameron anywhere near said address”.

Gary Younge explains the way I feel about this much better than I ever could do here.
