The Contd. Adventures Of The Chief Cashier
Regular readers, (yes I know), will have noticed my recent interest in Mr W S Hersey.
Interest that saw me return to the charity shop I originally bought the other papers in to investigate further – and I’m pleased to say I found a little more.
Hidden between some books where I’d located the other papers were the instructions for a Boots Automatic Coffee Perculator. Purchased on the 28th December 1974 in the branch in Sidney Street, Cambridge – it looks like a fine piece of equipment.
Perhaps more importantly though, (at least for today), were the two photographs tucked within these instructions – along with a repeat prescription slip for Mrs Alice M Hersey which made me realise that I must have missed these when I first visited.
The photographs seem to show Mr W S Hersey at the helm of his boat, the Dalma.
And I think you’ll agree he looks right at home.
